Gopanam Jagatah Sthithih Gopanam means to protect the universe. That is the job of Eshwara who is mainly of Satva guna. Gopthri means she who is protecting this universe in the form of Eshwara.
Samastha bhootaani paalayan rakshako jagata iti gopthaa
She is the administrator and protector of all the beings
Swamaayayaa Swamaatmaanam Samvrunoteethi gopthri
She becomes hidden in her own Maya
Srividhya is a very well protected sacred secret. It should not be revealed to everybody. One should tell it to only an able disciple. Divine mother is the heart of Srividhya. Hence, she is called Gopthri
గోపనం జగతః స్థితిహ్ గోపనము అంటే జగత్తు యొక్క రక్షణ. అది సత్వగుణ ప్రధానుడైన ఈశ్వరుని పని. ఆ పనిని చెయ్యటంచేత అమ్మ గోప్త్రీ అనబడుతున్నది. సత్త్వగుణ ప్రధానమై సకల జగత్తును రక్షిస్తున్నది కాబట్టి అమ్మ గోప్త్రీ అనబడుతున్నది.
సమస్త భూతాని పాలయం రక్షకో జగత ఇతి గోప్తా
సకల భూతజాలమును పాలించి రక్షించునది
స్వమాయయా స్వమాత్మానం సంవృణోతీతి గోప్త్రీ
తన మాయచే తానె మరుగున పడుతున్నది కాబట్టి గోప్త్రీ అనబడుతుంది.
శ్రీవిద్య చాలా గుప్తమైనది. దానిని ఎవరికీ పడితే ఆరికి చెప్పరాదు. యోగ్యుడైన శిష్యుడికే ఉపదేశించాలి. అమ్మే శ్రీవిద్యకీ హృదయం. అందుకే గోప్త్రీ అనబడుతున్నది.
