భండాసురాది దైత్యులను సంహరించినది. భండాసుర, మహిషాసుర, శుంభ, నిశుంభ, మొదలగు దైత్యులను సంహరించినది. వేదాన్ని దూషించేవారు, పరబ్రహ్మ లేడనేవారు, దేవతలను నిందించేవారు, ధర్మాన్ని నాశనం చేసేవారు, తేలిక అయిన అర్ధంలో చెప్పాలి అంటే సంఘ వ్యతిరేకులు, సమాజ వ్యతిరేకులు - వీరు దైత్యులు అనబడతారు.
దితియొక్క సంతానం దైత్యులు. వీరంతా ధర్మదూరులు. వీరు యజ్ఞయాగాలను ద్వేషిస్తారు. బ్రహ్మను ద్వేషిస్తారు. కేవలము ఐహికవాంఛల కోసమే జీవిస్తారు. తమోగుణ ప్రధానులు. ఇటువంటి వారిని సంహరిస్తుంది కాబట్టి దైత్యహంత్రీ అనబడుతుంది.
She who killed demons like Bhandasura, Mahishasura, Shumbha, Nishumbha etc. These demons don't accept the knowledge and guidance provided by vedas. They don't accept God. They spread animosity against Devatas. They always try to destroy the establishment of Dharma.
Demons are called Daityas. They are sons of Dithi. They hate yagnas and yagas. They hate brahma. They crave only for carnal pleasures. They are mainly of thamo guna.
