888. Vipraroopa

విప్రుల రూపం గలది. అందుకే 'దేవతలయందు వేదవేత్తలైన బ్రాహ్మణులున్నారు.' అని వేదం చెబుతోంది.

ఆపస్తంబస్మృతిలో
అవమానాత్తపోవృద్ధిః సన్మానా తపసః క్షయః
అర్చితః పూజితో విప్రః దుగ్గా గౌ రివ సీదతి
ఆప్యాయతే యథాహస్సు తృణై రమృత సంభవైః
ఏవం జపైశ్చ హోమైశ్చ పున రాప్యాయతే ద్విజః

అవమానంతో తపో వృద్ధి కలుగుతుంది. సన్మానంతో తపస్సు క్షీణిస్తుంది. విప్రుడు పూజించబడినట్లైతే పాలు పితికిన ఆవులాగా కృశించిపోతాడు. మృదువైన గడ్డితిని గోవు బలిసినట్లుగా మంత్రజపంతోను, హోమంతోను బ్రాహ్మణుడు పుష్టిగా ఉంటాడు. అటువంటి విప్రుని రూపంలో ఉంటుంది లలితమ్మ. 

Divine mother is in the form of Vipra. That is why Brahmins are venerated in Hindu culture

It is said like this in Apasthambasmruthi

Avamaanaattapovriddhih sanmaanaa tapasahkshayah

architah poojito viprah duggaa gou riva seedathi

Aapyaayate yadhaahassu trunai ramruta sambhavaih

evam japaischa homaischa puna raapyaayate dwijah

Facilitations and salutations actually do not do good to a Vipra. It will diminish their Tapas( status of meditation). Their Tapas will increase upon insult. The Tapas of Vipras who enjoy respect weakens like a cow that is milked every day. By doing meditation and yagna, a Vipra becomes strong. Divine mother is in the form of such Vipra.

887. Viprapriya

వేద శాస్త్రాలు బాగా తెలిసిన బ్రాహ్మణులను విప్రులు అంటారు. అమ్మకు వారంటే ప్రీతి. 

బ్రహ్మవైవర్తపురాణంలో

జన్మనా బ్రాహ్మణోజ్జీయః సంస్కారై ర్ద్విజ ఉచ్యతే
విద్యయా యాతి విప్రత్వం త్రిభి శ్రోత్రియ ఉచ్యతే

జన్మచేత బ్రాహ్మణుడవుతున్నాడు. ఉపనయనాది సంస్కారములచే ద్విజుడు అనబడుతున్నాడు. విద్యచేత విప్రుడవుతున్నాడు. ఈ మూడు లక్షణాలు గలవాడు శ్రీత్రేయుడు అని చెప్పబడింది. అటువంటి విప్రులు అభీష్టముగా గలది. వేదపఠనంచేత బ్రాహ్మణుడికి విప్రత్వం వస్తుంది. లలితమ్మ  వేదస్వరూపిణి. వేదజనని కాబట్టి వేదపండితులయిన విప్రులందు అపేక్ష కలిగి ఉంటుంది.

Brahmins who learn vedas and become subject matter experts in vedic scriptures are called 'Vipra'. Divine Mother likes them.

It is said like this in Brahma vaivartha purana

Janmanaa braahmanojjeeyah samskaarair dwija uchyate

vidyayaa yaathi vipravtwam tribhi srotriya uchyate

By birth he becomes a Brahmin. After the sacred thread ceremony, he becomes a 'Dwija (One with two births)'. After learning vedas and assimilating them he is becoming 'Vipra'.One who has all these three ranks is called 'Shreetreya'. Mother Lalitha is the embodiment of all the Vedas. Hence she is called Vipra priya.
