Brahman is conjunction of Shiva (nirguṇa or without attributes and Shaktī (saguṇa or with attributes). This is explained in two ways. One is Shaktī sitting on the lap of Shiva and another is Ardhanaarīshvara form, where one vertical form is Shiva and another is Shaktī. This is referred to in this nāma. Kāma refers to Śiva and koṭi means vertical.
శివశక్తుల యొక్క కలయికే పరబ్రహ్మ. ఈ కలయికను రెండు విధాలుగా వర్ణించారు. ఒకచోట శక్తి శివుని వొళ్ళో కూర్చుని ఉంటుంది. ఇంకొకటి అర్ధనారీశ్వర తత్వం. శివుడు శక్తి నిటారుగా నిలుచుని ఉంటారు. శక్తిలోని ఎడమ భాగం శివుడిలోని కుడి భాగంతో కలిసి ఉంటుంది. ఈ నామం ఈ కలయికనే చెబుతోంది. కాముడు అంటే శివుడు. కోటి అంటే నిటారుగా నిలుచుని ఉన్నది.
