పాతివ్రత్యాత్ సద్రూపత్వాచ్చ సతీ
పాతివ్రత్యము సద్రూపముగా గలది కాబట్టి సతి. ఏ విధంగా అయితే ఒక పతివ్రత తన భర్త ఆజ్ఞను మీరకుండా నిత్యం అతనికి అనుగుణంగా నడచుకుంటుందో, అదే విధంగా సత్యవ్రతుడైన భక్తుడు ఏళ్ల వేళలా ధర్మావలంబన చేస్తుంటాడు. తాను చేసిన ప్రతీ పనీ వేద విహితమైన ధర్మచక్రంలో ఇమిడి ఉండేలా జాగ్రత్త పడతాడు. ఈశ్వరుడే సత్యమని నమ్మింది సతీ దేవి. ఆయనే సర్వస్వంగా బ్రతికింది. అంతఃకరణములలో ఆయన రూపమే నింపుకుంది. అదే సత్యవ్రతమంటే. సతీ దేవి యొక్క కథ 601.దక్షయజ్ఞ వినాశిని అనే నామంలో చదవగలరు

Paathivratyaath sadroopatvaaccha Sathee
Sati is personification of paathivratyam. A pathivratha is a wife who always thinks about benefit of her husband. She has utmost respect towards him and is always aligned to his intentions in all the faculties of intuition (Antahkaranas). A devotee who takes up Satyavratha also is aligned like that to Paramaatma. He takes utmost care to ensure all his actions follow the dharmic principles prescribed in Vedas.
