సంపత్కరీ దేవి అమ్మవారి గజదళానికి అధిపతి. ఆవిడ రణకోలాహలము అనే ఏనుగును అధిరోహించి ఉంటుంది. కోట్ల కొలది ఏనుగులు ఆమెను అనుసరించి ఉంటాయి.
సుఖ సంపదలతో కూడిన మనోవ్యాపారమే సంపత్కరి. మనస్సు ఏనుగు వలే చాలా బలమైనది. నిత్యం అలజడితో కోలాహలంగా ఉంటుంది. అటువంటి మనస్సు దైవ ధ్యానము సరిగ్గా చేయలేదు. సంపత్కరీ దేవి (అంకుశం పట్టి ఆ ఏనుగుని అదుపు చేసినట్లు) మన మనస్సుని అదుపు చేస్తుంది. సుఖము సంపద శాంతి ఇచ్చే విషయాలపై మనస్సును మళ్లిస్తుంది. సుఖసంపదలతో కూడిన చిత్తవృత్తులు సంపత్కరీ సంజ్ఞగలవి. మనస్సు అనబడే పరమేశ్వరి ఈ చిత్త వృత్తులను అధిరోహించి శబ్దాదివిషయాసమూహములను గజములచే సేవించబడుచున్నది. మనస్సును ముఖ్యప్రాణంలో లాయంచేసి తురీయస్థితిని చెంది ఉండటమే సంపత్కరీవిద్య.
అశ్వారూఢా - ఈమె పరమేశ్వరి అంకుశం నుండి పుట్టింది. అపరాజిత అనె గుఱ్ఱం ఎక్కి వాయువేగ మనోవేగాలతో తిరుగుతూ ఉంటుంది. ఆవిడ వెనక అదే వేగంతో పరుగులు తీసే గుఱ్ఱాలు అనేకముంటాయి.
మానవుడి ఇంద్రియాలు అశ్వరూపాలు. అవి గుఱ్ఱాలవలె వేగవంతముగాను, చంచల స్వభావముతోను ఉంటాయి. వాటికి అధిపతి మనస్సు. అంతేకాదు మనస్సు వ్యక్తం అయ్యేది కూడా ఇంద్రియాల ద్వారానే.
మానవుడి ఇంద్రియాలు అశ్వరూపాలు. అవి గుఱ్ఱాలవలె వేగవంతముగాను, చంచల స్వభావముతోను ఉంటాయి. వాటికి అధిపతి మనస్సు. అంతేకాదు మనస్సు వ్యక్తం అయ్యేది కూడా ఇంద్రియాల ద్వారానే.
యస్తు విజ్ఞానవాన్ భవ త్యయుక్తేన మనసా సదా |
త స్యేన్ద్రియాణి వశ్యాని సదశ్యా ఇవ సారధౌ ||
మనస్సుని అదుపులో ఉంచుకుని జ్ఞానం కలిగి ప్రవర్తించే వాని ఇంద్రియాలు సారధియొక్క మంచి గుఱ్ఱాలలాగా అతని వశంలో ఉంటాయి

మనస్సుని విచ్చలవిడిగా వదిలేసి సరైన జ్ఞానం లేకుండా సంచరించే వాడి ఇంద్రియాలు దోషపూరిత అశ్వాలు సారధి అదుపుతప్పినట్లే వశం తప్పిపోతాయి
రహస్యం - మనస్సును భగవంతువైపు తిప్పాలి అంటే ఇంద్రియాలను భగవదారాధకు వినియోగించాలి. చెవులతో భాగవత కథలు వినాలి. కళ్ళతో భావచ్చిత్రాలు చూడాలి. నైవేద్యము పెట్టిన పదార్థమును భగవదానుగ్రహంగా భావించి భుజించాలి. మెత్తని పుష్పములు, చామరము మొదలైనవి చర్మానికి మంచి అనుభూతిని ఇస్తాయి. వాటితో భగవంతుని సేవ చేయాలి. అశ్వరూఢా దేవి అపరాజిత అనే గుఱ్ఱం ఎక్కడమంటే ఇదే. ఇంద్రియాలు ఈ విధంగా చేస్తే మనస్సు అవి ఆరాధిస్తున్న భగవంతుని గుణములను పట్టుకుంటుంది. అప్పుడు అలజడి తగ్గి శాంతి కలుగుతుంది. సంపత్కరీ దేవి రణకోలాహలముని అధిరోహించడమంటే ఇదే.

Sampatkari represents mental capabilities that cause peace and pleasure. The mind is very strong like an elephant. It is filled with chaos and anxiety. Such a mind cannot focus during meditation. Goddess sampatkari controls the mind (like an elephant controlled with a goad) and brings it back to order and peace. The chittavrittis that consists of pleasures and wealth are the symbols of sampatkari. The mind called Paramesvari ascends these cittavruttis and is being served by them. Sampatkari vidya is the state of the mind which is absorbed into the vital life force in a state of Turiya.
Ashvarudha - She is born from Divine Mother's goad. She rides on a horse named Aparajita and circles around Mother's chariot with at a speed of wind.
The senses of the human being are like horses. They are swift and unstable. The mind is their master. The mind expresses itself through the senses.
yastu vijnavaan bhava tyayuktena manasa sadaa |
tha syendriyaani vashyaani sadashyaa iva saaradhou ||
One who has control on mind will have control on the senses as well. His senses work like good horses of the stable.

Concept - To turn the mind towards God means to use the senses for worship of God. Listen to stories about God. Enjoy beautiful pictures/portraits of God with eyes. Offered food to God before eating it. Think of it as His grace and blessing. Delicate flowers, chaamaram, etc. give a pleasant feeling to the skin. Use them to serve God. This is what Goddess Ashvarudha riding on Aparajita means. When the senses do these the mind captures the attributes of the God they worship. Then the anxiety subsides and peace is restored. This is how goddess Sampathkari ascends the 'Ranakolahalam'.
