అమ్మ ఎడమచేతిలో పాశము అనే ఆయుధమున్నది. అది రాగస్వరూపమైనది. దీనితోనే మానవుడు కట్టివేయబడుతున్నాడు. అనేకానేక కష్టాలు పడుతున్నాడు.
వామకేశ్వరతంత్రంలో ఇలా చెప్పారు మనలో ఉన్న రాగము అనే అనురాగాన్ని అమ్మకు సమర్పించి ఆమెను అర్చించాలి. అప్పుడే శివ సాయుజ్యం సిద్ధిస్తుంది.
అమ్మ ఈ పాశమనే ఆయుధంతో భక్తుల పాశములను తొలగింస్తుంది.
ఘృణాలజ్జా భయం శంకాజుగుప్సా చేతి పంచమీ |
కులంశీలం తథాజాతి రష్టాపాశాః ప్రకీర్తితాః ||
1. దయ. 2. జుగుప్స 3. సిగ్గు 4. భయము. 5. సంశయము 6. కులము 7. జాతి 8. శీలము
ఇవి అష్టవిధపాశాలు. అయితే
1. పశుపాశము 2. భవపాశము 3. బంధపాశము 4. మోహపాశము 5. ఆశాపాశము 6. కర్మపాశము 7. దుఃఖపాశము 8. కేశపాశము ఇవికూడా అష్టపాశాలే.
పాశయుక్తో భవే జ్జీవః పాశముక్తో భవే చ్ఛివః
పాశబద్ధుడు జీవుడు. పాశాలను తెంచుకున్నవాడు ఈశ్వరుడు. అమ్మ ఈ పాశాలను తొలగిస్తుంది.
అనిరుద్ధుడు బాణుడితో యుద్ధం చేస్తూ నాగపాశంతో బంధించబడినప్పుడు, ఆ పరమేశ్వరి అతడికి విముక్తి కలిగించింది.
Divine mother carries a weapon called Paasha in one of her left hands. That is used to remove all kinds of attachments humans have with the material world. This attachment is the root cause of all the miseries or problems. By removing this, mother makes us eligible for liberation (Moksha)
It is said like this in Vaamkeshwara tantra
We have to offer all types of attachments to Divine mother and meditate upon her. Then you unite with Brahma
Ghrunaalajjaa bhayam shankaajugupsaa chethi panchamee |
Kulamsheelam tathaajaathi rashtoupaashaah prakeerthitaah ||
1.Compassion, 2. Disgust/Aversion, 3. Shy, 4. Fear, 5. Doubt/Suspicion, 6. Caste, 7. Religion, 8. Nature/Character. These are called the 8 paashas of human beings.
The below is another version of the eight paashas.
Attachment/inclination or aversion towards:
1. Living beings, 2. Self, 3. Kith and kin, 4. Lust/craving, 5. Bewilderment, 6. Desire, 7. Sorrows, 8. Long hair
Paasha yuktho bhavejjeevah paashamukto bhavecchivah
With Paasha, you are a normal living being. Without paasha you are Shiva
Aniruddha prayed Divine Mother to liberate him from the shackles of Naaga paasha in the war with Baanasura.
