లాస్యము(నర్తన)నందు ప్రేమ గలది. నాట్యము మీద ప్రేమగలది. స్త్రీలు చేసే నృత్యాన్ని లాస్యము అంటారు. అది సౌందర్య పరమైనది. పురుషులు చేసేది తాండవము. అది వీరము, రౌద్రము సూచించేది. ఆధారచక్రంలో శివుడు తాండవము చేస్తూ ఉంటే దేవి లాస్య నాట్యం చేస్తోంది. శంకర భగవత్పాదులవారు తమ సౌందర్య లహరిలోని 41వ శ్లోకంలో
తవాధారే మూలే సహ సమయయా లాస్యపరమానవాత్మానం మన్యే నవరస మహాతాండవ నటమ్
ఆధారచక్రంలో శివుడు తాండవం చేస్తుంటాడు. పరమేశ్వరి లాస్య నృత్యం చేస్తుంది. అందుకే ఆమె లాస్యప్రియా అనబడుతుంది.
Divine mother likes Laasya. There are two styles in classical dance. 1. Laasya, 2.Tandava. Laasya has grace and beauty in it. Tandava has potential strength and courage. It is said like this in the 41st shloka of Soundarya lahari.
Tavadhaare moole saha samayaya laasyaparamaa
navaatmaanam manye navarasa mahaataandava natam
In moolaadhaara chakra, Shiva is doing tandava and Divine mother is doing Laasya.
