బ్రహ్మ, విష్ణు, మహేశ్వరులు ముగ్గురూ ఒకటై పరస్పరం చూసుకున్నారు. ఆ దృష్టి నుండి దివ్యరూపమైన కన్యకామణి పుట్టింది. ఆమె నలుపు, తెలుపు పీతవర్ణాలు కలిగి ఉన్నది. ఆ బాలిక వారితో "నేను భగవదృష్టితో పుట్టాను నేను సర్వశక్తి సమన్వితమైన పరమేశ్వరిని” అని చెప్పింది.
కాబట్టి పరమేశ్వరి త్రివర్ణములు కలిగి ఉన్నది. ఆమె త్రిమూర్తి. ఆమె శ్వేతవర్ణం గలిగి సత్వగుణంతో బ్రహ్మనిష్ఠురాలుగా, రక్తవర్ణం గలిగి రజోగుణంతో వైష్ణవిగా, పసుపువర్ణం గలిగి తమోగుణంతో రౌద్రిగా పిలువబడుతుంది. పరమాత్మ ఒక్కడే అయినప్పటికీ మూడురకాలుగా త్రిమూర్తులుగా ఉన్నట్లుగానే, దేవి ఒక్కతే అయినప్పటికీ ప్రయోజనం కోసం మూడు విధాలపుతున్నది. ఆవిడే మన అమ్మ.Once Brahma, Viṣṇu and Śiva looked at each other. A young girl appeared from their looks. Then the Lords asked the girl, "Who are you?". She replied, "I am the Śaktī, the combined form of all the three of you. I am made of three colours, white, greenish black and red. White colour represents her sattvic nature. Red colour represents the Vaishnavi shakti. The third colour is yellow, representing Roudri and tamo guṇa."
It is said that the Para Brahma has divided into three, Brahma, Viṣṇu and Rudra. The same three combined to form Śaktī. She is One into many and many into One. That one is the Para Brahma. Para Brahma is the cause and Śaktī is the effect.
