మహాపద్మము అంటే వెయ్యి రేకుల పద్మము. ఈ పద్మమునకు ఎనిమిది దిక్కులా ఎనిమిది రేకులు ఉంటాయి. ఈ ఎనిమిది రేకులకు లోపల ఒక్కొక్క దానిలోనూ 125 చిన్న రేకులు ఉంటాయి. మొత్తం 125 X 8 = 1000 రేకులు. అటువంటి పద్మములు కలిగిన వనములో ఉంటుంది అమ్మ.
వికసించిన కమలం బుద్ధి వికాసమునకు చిహ్నం. బాగుగా వికసించిన బుద్ధి కుశలతను పొందుతుంది. బుద్ధి కుశలత కలిగిన యోగి ధ్యానమునందు అమ్మవారి (ఆత్మ) దర్శనము పొందగలడు
ఆజ్ఞాచక్రానికి పైన బ్రహ్మ రంధ్రానికి కొద్దిగా కింద, వెయ్యి దళముల పద్మముంటుంది. దాని రేకులు తెల్లగా ఉంటాయి. దానిలో అమృతం ఉంటుంది. నిదురిస్తున్న కుండలిని పైకి ఎగబాకి ఈ సహస్రదళ పద్మమును కరిచి పట్టుకుంటుంది. అప్పుడు అందులోని అమృతం ధారలుగా క్రిందకు వచ్చి సాధకుడి శరీరంలోని 72000 నాడులను తడుపుతుంది. అదే సచ్చిదానందం. అది అనుభవైక వేద్యం.

A full blossomed lotus is a sign of intellectual development. The forest of lotus flowers represent a well developed intellect. Such Yogi, can see divine mother (soul) in meditation.
There is a 1000 petalled lotus above Agna chakra and slightly below brahma randhra. Its petals are in white color. It has Amrutha. When Kundalini awakens, it rises up and bites this lotus flower. Then the yogi's body is drenched with the showers of amruta dripping from this lotus. Then he/she experiences the bliss of Atma. It cannot be explained in words.
