కుండలినీ తామరతూడులోని దారం లాగ సన్నగా ఉంటుంది. అది ఆధారచక్రంలో, నోటితో తోకను పట్టుకున్న సర్పములాగా నిద్రిస్తూ ఉంటుంది. చంద్ర కిరణాల వల్ల స్రవించే అమృత ధారలే దానికి ఆహారం (ఇడా నాడి చంద్ర నాడి. అందులో వాయువు తిరిగినప్పుడు కుండలినికి కావలసిన అమృత బిందువులు స్రవిస్తాయి). సాధకులు ప్రాణాయామం ద్వారా వాయువును కుంభించినప్పుడు వాయు గమనం ఆగిపోతుంది. అమృత బిందువులు స్రవించవు. అప్పుడు నిరాహార అయిన కుండలిని మేల్కొని శుషుమ్నా నాడి ద్వారా పైకి ఎగబాకి షట్చక్రాలను దాటి, బ్రహ్మ, విష్ణు, రుద్ర గ్రంథులను భేదించి సహస్రారంలో ఉన్న సహస్రదళపద్మమును చేరుకుంటుంది. అక్కడ ఆ పద్మము యొక్క కర్ణికను కరిచి పట్టుకుంటుంది. అప్పుడు అందులోంచి అమృత దారాలు సాధకుని శరీరములోని 72000 నాడి మండలాలను తడుపుతుంది. అప్పుడు పరమాత్మ దర్శనం అవుతుంది.
కుండలినికి పరమాత్మతో యోగమంటే ఆసక్తి. ఇది అన్నిటికన్నా గొప్ప ఆసక్తి. మిగతా కోరికలు ఎన్ని తీరిన ఈ ఆసక్తి మాత్రం పోదు. కానీ ఈ కోరిక తీరినవారికి ఇంక వేరే ఏ ఆసక్తి ఉండదు.
The Kundalini (Divine Serpent Power) is like a thread in a lotus stem. It sleeps on the Moolaadhaara chakra, like a snake holding its tail with its mouth. It feeds on the nectar streams secreted by the lunar rays (Ida is the lunar naadi). The air flow through the ida naadi stops when the practitioner does kumbhakam in the pranayama. Then the secretion of Amrita nectar also stop. Then the fasting Kundalini awakens and ascends through the Sushumna nerve, crosses the six chakras, penetrates the Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra glands, and reaches the Sahasradala Padma(1000 petalled lotus) in the Sahasrara. There it bites and holds the atrium of the flower. The nectar from the flower drips down and washes all the 72000 nerve centers (naadis) in the practitioner's body. Then he/she experiences the divine bliss. This is union with Paramatma.
Union(Yoga) with Paramatman is of utmost interest to the Kundalini. This is the greatest interest of all. This interest will not go away until the union actually happens. Those who have fulfilled this desire will have no other desires left.
