శ్రీచక్రములోని 8వ ఆవరణే మహాత్రికోణము. దానికి అధిదేవత. త్రిపురములకు అధిపతి. స్థూల సూక్ష్మ కారణ శరీరాలు, వాగ్భవ కామరాజ శక్తి కూటాలు, సత్వరజస్తమో గుణాలు, సృష్టి స్థితి లయలు, జాగృత్ స్వప్న శుషుప్తి అవస్థలు, ఇచ్చా జ్ఞాన క్రియా శక్తులు, వామ జ్యేష్ఠ రౌద్రి శక్తులు, మాతృ మాన మేయములు మొదలైన త్రిపుటాలకు అధిపతి నవావరణలో బిందు స్థానంలో ఉన్న లలితమ్మ.
Maha trikona is in the 8th stage of Srichakra. Tripuraambika means mother of triads. The sthoola sookshma and kaarana bodies, the vaagbhava kaamaraja and Shakti kootas, satwa rajas tamo gunas, shrushti sthithi and laya, jaagruth swapna and shushupti states, iccha gnaana and kriya shaktis, vaama jyeshta roudri shaktis, maatru maana meyas etc are all triads. Mother Lalitha in the Bindu of 9th stage is the lord of all these triads.
