సృష్టి, స్థితి, లయ, తిరోధానము, అనుగ్రహము. ఈ 5 కార్యములు కలిపి సృష్టి. దీనికి అధిపతి లలితమ్మ. అన్నిటికన్నా ముందు పరబ్రహ్మం ఉంది. అది తనలోని కొంత భాగాన్ని శక్తిగా మార్చింది. వారే మహాకామేశ్వరుడు, లలితమ్మను. అప్పుడు ఆ శక్తి నుంచి 'ఓం' అనే ప్రణవం వచ్చింది. కాలము, పంచభూతాలు, కర్మ, గుణములు వచ్చాయి. పంచీకరణ జరిగి సృష్టి వచ్చింది. అందులో జీవములు వర్దిల్లాయి. పుడుతూ చస్తూ ఎన్నో జన్మలు ఎత్తయి. అలా కొన్నాళ్లు జరిగాక ఈ సృష్టి పరబ్రహ్మలో లయమయిపోతుంది. ఇంకా కర్మ నివృత్తి అవ్వని జీవులన్నీ కర్మ శేషం ఉండగానే మరణిస్తాయి. కాలము సంచిత కర్మ అంతా పరబ్రహ్మంలో కలిసిపోతాయి. తరువాత మళ్ళీ ప్రణవం వస్తుంది. మళ్ళీ సృష్టి జరుగుతుంది. మళ్ళీ జీవాలు వస్తాయి. మళ్ళీ చావు పుట్టుకలు వస్తాయి. కర్మ అనుభవిస్తాయి. అనేక జన్మలు ఎత్తుతాయి. ఇది ఇలా కొనసాగుతూనే ఉంటుంది. ఎవరైతే మోక్ష మార్గాన్ని అనుసరించి పరమాత్మ దర్శనం సాధిస్తారో వారే ఈ కర్మ పాశం నుండి బయట పడతారు. జన్మ రాహిత్యం పొంది శాశ్వత శివ సాన్నిధ్యం పొందుతారు.
ఈ సృష్టి కార్యంలోని పంచ కృత్యాల బాధ్యత బ్రహ్మ, విష్ణు, రుద్ర, మహేశ్వర, సదాశివులది. ఇప్పుడు వీరిలో బ్రహ్మ, విష్ణు, రుద్ర, మహేశ్వరులు ఒక మంచానికి నాలుగు కాళ్ళయ్యారనుకోండి. ఆ మంచానికి సదాశివుడు కూర్చునే పలకగా ఉన్నదనుకోండి. అటువంటి మంచంపై అధిష్టానించి ఉంటాడు మహాకామేశ్వరుడు. ఆయన వామ భాగాన అమ్మ ఉంటుంది. అదే పంచప్రేత మంచాధిశాయినీ.
Creation, Sustenance, Dissolution, Annihilation and Recreation are the 5 acts in the overall process of creation. Divine Mother Lalitha is the administrator of this process. At the beginning only Parabrahma existed. A part of it formed as Shakti. These two are termed as Mahakaameshwara and Mother Lalitha. From them came the Pranava 'Om'. From it came Karma and the three Gunas, time, space and the four elements. All the four elements mixed with space to create beings. These beings go through the cycles of birth and death. It continues like this for some time. After that the creation dissolves into Parabrahma again. All the four elements, time, space, karma and gunas dissolve into It. After that the creation begins again. This is a cyclic process. Those who follow the path of liberation escape from it and reach the permanent abode of Paramaatma. They are free from rebirth.
The responsibilities of the 5 acts of creation are assigned to Brahma, Vishnu, Rudra, Maheshwara and Sadaashiva. Imagine Brahma, Vishnu, Rudra and Maheshwara are the four legs of a cot and Sadaashiva is the flat plank on it. Mahakaameshwara is sitting on it and Mother Lalitha is on his left side. That is Panchapreta manchadhishaayini.
