పధ్నాలుగు లోకాల యొక్క సృష్టిస్థితిలయాలనబడే యాత్రను చేసే స్వభావం గలది. ఈ లోకాలలో జన్మించే ప్రతిజీవికీ వారు చేయవలసిన పనులు అన్నీ ముందుగానే నిర్ణయిస్తుంది. కాబట్టి లోకయాత్రా విధాయినీ అనబడుతోంది.
లోకంలోని మానవాళికి వర్ణాశ్రమధర్మాలను విధించినది. గత జన్మలో చేసిన కర్మల ఫలితాలను అంటే సంచితకర్మను వారు తరువాత జన్మలలో జాగ్రత్తగా అనుభవించేటట్లు ఏర్పాటు చేసేది. ఆ కర్మ ఫలితము అనుభవించటానికి అనుగుణంగా శరీరాన్ని ఏర్పాటుచేసేది.
జీవులు తాము చేసిన కర్మలననుసరించి వారికి మానవులు, పశువులు, పక్షులు, గంధర్వులు, యక్షులు. ఇలా వారికి జీవనవిధానం ఏర్పరుస్తుంది. వారందరూ ఆ విధంగా కర్మఫలం అనుభవించేటట్లు చూస్తుంది. కాబట్టి ఆవిడ లోకయాత్రా విధాయినీ అనబడుతుంది.Yatra means journey. It is the journey of creation, sustenance and destruction of all the 14 lokas. She decides the destiny of all those living in these 14 lokas.
She decides our next birth based on our past karma. She assigns the body that is suitable to enjoy the fruits of all our past karma.
She prescribed the Varna-Ashrama dharmas for betterment of all those who got human body. Each human will exhibit certain tendencies based on his/her past karma. One should choose the correct dharma based on his/her tendencies and lead a dharmic life. That is the path to liberation.
Because she conducts the journey to liberation of all the beings across several births. She is called Lokayatra Vidhaayani.
