637. Gandharwasevitha

గంధర్వులచేత సేవింపబడునది. మానవుల తరువాత గొప్ప శక్తులు గల వారిలో గంధర్వులు ఒకరు. వీరు రెండు రకాలుగా ఉన్నారు.

1. మానవ గంధర్వులు మనుష్యులుగా ఉండి, తాము చేసిన పుణ్యకర్మలవల్ల గంధర్వత్వం పొందినవారు.

2. దేవ గంధర్వులు - వీరు పుట్టుకతోనే గంధర్వులుగా ఉన్నారు. దేవతలలో ఒక జాతి. విశ్వావసువు మొదలైనవారు దేవగంధర్వులు. అమ్మ గంధర్వులచే సేవింపబడుతుంది.

గంధర్వులు మంచి సంగీత విద్వాంసులు. అందుకే గంధర్వగానం అంటారు. వీరంతా ఆకాశంలో చరిస్తూ పర్వత శిఖరాల మీద ఉంటూ, హిమాలయ శిఖరాలమీద వీణా వేణు మృదంగాల వాద్యాలతో పరమేశ్వరిని కీర్తిస్తూ సేవించుకుంటారు. అందుకే ఆ దేవి 'గంధర్వసేవితా' అనబడింది.

Gandharwas are the next most powerful creatures after humans. They are of two types

1. Manava gandharwas - These attain the state of gandharwa due to their virtuous deeds
2. Deva gandharwas - These attain the state of gandharwa by birth. They are a class among the devatas. Devatas like Vishwa vasuvu pertain to this class.

Divine mother is worshipped by all the Gandharwas.

Gandharwas are great musicians. That is why a beautiful melody is regarded as Gandharwa ganam. These gandharwas wander across the sky and live in mountain ranges. They worship Divine mother with their melodious songs.
