కురుకుళ్ళా అనేది ఒక దేవత. శ్రీపురంలోని అహంకార చిత్తమయ ప్రాకారాల మధ్యలో విమర్శమయమైన బావి యందు ఉంటుంది.
లలితాస్తవ రత్నంలో
కురువిందతరుణినిలయాం కులాచలస్పర్థి కుచనమన్మధ్యాంకుంకుమ విలిప్త గాత్రీం కురుకుళ్ళాం మనసి కుర్మహే సతతం ||
కురువిందరత్నములపై నివసించునది, కులపర్వతాలను మించిన కుచయుగములచే వంగిన నడుము గలది, కుంకుమలేపనము గావించబడిన దేహము గలది అయిన కురుకుళ్ళా దేవిని మనసున ధ్యానింతును. ఈ ప్రాకార అవరణలో ఆ దేవి పేరు శ్యామ. ఈమెనే కురుకుళ్ళాదేవి అంటారు. ఈ దేవతా స్వరూపంలోనే ఉంటుంది కాబట్టి లలితమ్మ కురుకుళ్ళా అనబడుతోంది.
సుషుమ్న మార్గంలో ముఖ్య నాడి కురుకుళ్ళా ఆనబడుతుంది. ఆధారచక్రం దగ్గర నుండి సహస్రారం దాకా, గ్రంథిత్రయముతో సహా ఈ ప్రాణి ఉంటుంది. అందుకే అది కురుకుళ్ళా అనబడుతుంది.
భావనోపనిషత్తులో
వారాహీ పితృరూపా, కురుకుళ్ళావళి దేవతా మాతా
శ్రీచక్రానికి ప్రధాన దేవత శ్రీదేవి. ఆమె శరీరం నుంచి వచ్చిన కాంతి పుంజాలు అష్టసిద్ధులైన అణిమాది దేవతలు. అలాగే సాదకుడి తండ్రి వారాహి. తల్లి కురుకుళ్ళావతి. ఇక్కడ మాతా అంటే సాధకుని కోరికలు తీర్చేది. ఐహికవాంఛలు తీర్చి మోక్షాన్ని ప్రసాదించేది.
శ్రీచక్రానికి ప్రధాన దేవత శ్రీదేవి. ఆమె శరీరం నుంచి వచ్చిన కాంతి పుంజాలు అష్టసిద్ధులైన అణిమాది దేవతలు. అలాగే సాదకుడి తండ్రి వారాహి. తల్లి కురుకుళ్ళావతి. ఇక్కడ మాతా అంటే సాధకుని కోరికలు తీర్చేది. ఐహికవాంఛలు తీర్చి మోక్షాన్ని ప్రసాదించేది.
మానవ శరీరంలో సుషుమ్నా నాడీమండలంలో ప్రాణనాడి అని చెప్పబడే సుషుమ్నా నాడినే 'కురుకుళ్ళా' అంటారు.

సజాతీయులైనటువంటి మాతృ మాన మేయముల సమూహము కులము అనబడుతుంది. అటువంటి వాటికి ఈశ్వరి, త్రిపుటికి ఈశ్వరి. కాబట్టి కులేశ్వరి. కురుకుళ్ళా అనే దేవత యే కులేశ్వరి అనబడుతుంది.
మూలాధారాదికం షట్చక్రం కుల మితి స్మృతం
మూలాధారము స్వాధిష్ఠానము మణిపూరము అనాహతము విశుద్ధిచక్రము ఆజ్ఞాచక్రము ఈ మార్గానికి కులమని పేరు. ఇదే సుషుమ్నా మార్గం. ఈ మార్గంలో సంచరించే ముఖ్యప్రాణ స్వరూపిణియే కురుకుళ్ళా దేవి. ఆమెయే కులేశ్వరి అనబడుతున్నది.
మూలాధారము స్వాధిష్ఠానము మణిపూరము అనాహతము విశుద్ధిచక్రము ఆజ్ఞాచక్రము ఈ మార్గానికి కులమని పేరు. ఇదే సుషుమ్నా మార్గం. ఈ మార్గంలో సంచరించే ముఖ్యప్రాణ స్వరూపిణియే కురుకుళ్ళా దేవి. ఆమెయే కులేశ్వరి అనబడుతున్నది.
కులము అంటే నాడీమండలము. దీనికి ఈశ్వరి కాబట్టి కులేశ్వరి అనబడుతుంది. 84 లక్షల జీవరాశికి ఈశ్వరి కాబట్టి కులేశ్వరి అనబడుతుంది.
Kurukulla is a deity. She is in well that lies in between the ego and Chittamaya ramparts of Sripuram.
In Lalitastava Ratnam
Kuruvindataruṇinilayāṁ kulācalasparthi kucanamanmadhyāṁ
kuṅkuma vilipta gātrīṁ kurukuḷḷāṁ manasi kurmahē satataṁ ||
She dwells on the Kuruvindaratnams, her waist is bent by the Kuchayuga, her body is suffused with saffron, my mind meditates on that Goddess Kurukulla. The name of that goddess in this prakara avarana is Shyama. Lalithamma is called Kurukulla because she is in this form of the goddess.
In the Sushumna tract, the main nerve is called Kurukulla. This tract stretches from Aadhar Chakra to Sahasrara, including Granthi trio. Hence it is called Kurukulla.
In Bhavanopanishad
Vārāhī pitr̥rūpā, kurukuḷḷāvaḷi dēvatā mātā
Sridevi is the main deity of Srichakra. The beams of light coming from her body are the eight-headed Animadi deities. Varahi is the father of the seeker. Kurukullavathi is the mother. Here, mother means one who fulfills the desires of the seeker. She fulfills worldly desires and bestows salvation.
The Sushumna nerve which is the main nerve of the sushumna nerve group is called 'Kurukulla'
The goddess Kurukulla is located in the well between the two ramparts called Chittam and Ahamkara of the town of Sridevi in Manidwipa between Sudhasindhu.
Kula represents the homogenous group of cognisor, cognition, cognized. This is a trio. Divine mother is the lord of such trio. So, she is called Kuleshwari. Goddess Kurukulla is known as Kuleshwari.
Mūlādhārādikaṁ ṣaṭcakraṁ kula miti smr̥taṁ
Mooladhara - Swadhisthana - Manipura - Anahata - Visuddhichakra - Ajnachakra. This path is called Kula. This is the path of Sushumna. Kurukulla Devi is the main life form that circles this path. She is called Kuleshwari.
Kula represents the entire nervous system. She is called Kuleshwari because she is the lord of this system. She is the lord of 84 lakh species born in this creation. So, she is called Kuleshwari.
