ఆదినాథ సమారంభాం శంకరాచార్య మధ్యమాం |
అస్మదాచార్య పర్యంతాం వందే గురు పరంపరామ్ ||
బిందుస్వరూపుడైన పరమేశ్వరుడు సృష్టి కోసం తనను తాను రెండు భాగాలుగా విభజించుకున్నాడు. అవే ప్రకాశాంశ, విమర్శాంశలు. శివశక్తి స్వరూపాలు. శ్రీవిద్యను భూలోకంలో వ్యాప్తి చెయ్యాలనే కోరికతో పరమేశ్వరుడు ఆ విద్యను పరమేశ్వరికి ఉపదేశించాడు. కొంతకాలానికి పరమేశ్వరి శ్రీవిద్యను ఉమామహేశ్వరులకు చెప్పగా, వారు లక్ష్మీనారాయణులకు, వారు వాణీ హిరణ్యగర్భులకు, వారు ఇంద్రాది దేవతలకు, వారు సనకసనందనాది సిద్ధులకు, వారు విద్యారణ్య, గౌడపాద, శంకర భగవత్పాదాదులకు ఈ విద్యను ఉపదేశించారు. ఈ రకంగా శ్రీవిద్య దివ్యాఘ, సిద్దేఘు, మానవాఘాలుగా సంప్రదాయసిద్ధంగా వచ్చింది.
గురు మండలాన్ని పూజించటమంటే పరమేశ్వరిని అర్చించటమే. అందుకే చక్రార్చన చేసేటప్పుడు ముందుగా గురుమండలాన్ని అర్చించాలి. శ్రీచక్రంలో అష్టకోణం మీద గురుమండలాన్ని పెట్టాలి. అది కూడా ముందు నుండి వెనుకవైపుకు ఐదవకోణం మీద గురుమండలాన్ని ఉంచాలి.
విమలా జయనీ యోర్మధ్యే, అరుణా వాగ్దేవతా సమీపే గురుమండలం యజేత్
అష్టకోణంలో వశిని మొదలైన వాగ్దేవతలుంటారు. వీరిలో విమల నాల్గవది. జయ ఆరవది. వీరిద్దరి మధ్యన ఐదవకోణంలో అరుణా వాగ్గేవతా సమీపంలో గురుమండలాన్ని అర్చించాలి.
విమలా జయనీ యోర్మధ్యే, అరుణా వాగ్దేవతా సమీపే గురుమండలం యజేత్
అష్టకోణంలో వశిని మొదలైన వాగ్దేవతలుంటారు. వీరిలో విమల నాల్గవది. జయ ఆరవది. వీరిద్దరి మధ్యన ఐదవకోణంలో అరుణా వాగ్గేవతా సమీపంలో గురుమండలాన్ని అర్చించాలి.
Aadi naadha samaarambhaam shankaraachaarya madhyamaam
Asmadaachaarya paryantaam vande guru paramparaam
Parabrahma, the absolute divided itself into two parts with an intention to create. They are Prakaasshamsha, Vimarshaamsha. Shiva and Shakti. To spread the knowledge of Srividya in this world, he taught it to Divine Mother. She taught it to Uma and Maheswara. They taught it to Lakshmi and Narayana. They taught it to Vani and Hiranyagarbha and they taught it to devatas like Indra. Saints like Sanaka, Sananda etc learnt it from devatas. They again taught it to sri Vidyaranya, Shankaracharya, Goudapada etc. Like this The knowledge of srividya spread from Devatas to Saints to humans. This is called gurumandala. Worshipping this gurumandala is same as worshipping Divine Mother.
Those who do archana to SriChakra should keep this gurumandala in the 5th corner of the octagon and do archana to the gurumandala first.
Vimalaa jayanee yormadhye, arunaa vaagdevataa sameepe gurumandalam yajeth
Vagdevatas like Vashini stay in srichakra's octagon. Of these Vimala is in the fourth corner. Jaya is in the 6th corner. Aruna is in between these two in the 5th corner. Gurumandala should be kept there.
