సరస్వతీదేవియే శాస్త్రము. ఆ దేవిని గురించి తెలుసుకోవాలి అంటే శాస్త్రాలే మనకు ఆధారము. గ్రంథకర్తను గురించి తెలుసుకోవాలంటే గ్రంథాలు ఆధారం. అలాగే సరస్వతిని గురించి తెలుసుకోవాలంటే శాస్త్రాలు ఆధారం. శ్రుతులు, స్మృతులు, శాస్త్రాలు అన్నీ వర్ణమయాలు. పరమేశ్వరి మాతృకావర్ణరూపిణి. కాబట్టి చతుర్వేదాలు.
1. శిక్ష, 2. వ్యాకరణము, 3. ఛందస్సు, 4. నిరుక్తము, 5. జ్యోతిషము, 6. కల్పము, 7. మీమాంస, 8. న్యాయము, 9. పురాణము10. ధర్మశాస్త్రము
ఇవన్నీ సరస్వతీ స్వరూపమే. అన్ని శాస్త్రాలలోనూ పరబ్రహ్మతత్త్వాన్ని వివరించటం జరుగుతుంది. కాబట్టి సరస్వతీదేవి శాస్త్రమయి అనబడుతోంది.
ఏదైనా ఒక విషయం నిర్ధారణ చెయ్యాలంటే అది శాస్త్రాల ఆధారంగానే జరుగుతుంది.
బ్రహ్మపురాణంలో పరమేశ్వరి శరీరఅవయవాలే శాస్త్రాలు. ఆమె ఉచ్ఛ్వాస నిఃశ్వాసలే వేదాలు. పరమేశ్వరి యొక్క అభిమానంతో - మహామంత్రాలు, మధురాలాపనతో - కావ్యాలు, నాటకాలు, అలంకారాలు, జిహ్వ నుంచి - సరస్వతి, చుబుకమునుంచి - వేదాంగాలు, కంఠం ఊర్ధ్వరేఖ నుంచి - మీమాంస, న్యాయశాస్త్రము, కంఠం మధ్యరేఖ నుంచి - ఆయుర్వేదము, కంఠం చివరి రేఖ నుంచి - చతుషష్టి తంత్రాలు, బాహువుల నుంచి - కామశాస్త్రము. ఈ రకంగా అన్ని శాస్త్రాలు పరమేశ్వరి నుంచే ఆవిర్భవించాయి. కాబట్టి ఆమె శాస్త్రమయీ అనబడుతోంది.
All shastras (applied sciences) are forms of goddess Saraswathi. To know her, one has to learn the shastras. Shrutis, Smurtis and Shastras are made of Varnas. Divine mother is known as matrukavarna roopini. Hence all the four vedas
1.Shiksha, 2.Vyaakarana, 3.Chandassu, 4.Niruktamu, 5.Jyotishamu, 6.Kalpamu, 7.Meemamsa, 8.Nyaayamu, 9.Puraanamu, 10.Dharma shaastramu
All these are forms of Goddess saraswathi. All shastras try to describe parabrahma. So Goddess Saraswathi is called Shastramayi
Shastras are the base to validate/authenticate anything.
It is said like this in Brahma purana - All shastras are Divine mother's body parts. Her breathe is Vedas. Maha mantras came from her pride. Poems, Dramas etc came from her sweet songs. Saraswathi came from her tongue and vedangas came from her chin. There are 3 folds on her neck. Nyaya shastra(Law) and Meemamsa(logic) came from the upper fold. Ayurveda came from the middle fold. All the 64 mantras came from the bottom fold. Kamashastra(Science of love) came from her arms. Like this all the sciences came from Divine mother. Hence she is called Shastramayi.
