411. Shishteshta

శిష్టులయందు ఇష్టము కలిగినది.

విహికకర్మలయందు ఇష్టము గలది. శిష్టేష్టా అన్నప్పుడు రెండు రకాల కర్మలు కనిపిస్తున్నాయి. 1. శిష్టములు - విహితకర్మలు. 2. ఇష్టములు - ప్రియమైనవి. ఈ రెండుకర్మలయందు ప్రీతిగలది.

విహితకర్మలచే పూజించబడినది. వర్ణాశ్రమ ధర్మాలలో చెప్పబడిన ప్రకారము పరమేశ్వరికి అర్పించేదే పూజ. అంతేకాని గంధము, పూలు అర్పించటంకాదు. 'ఆచారమునుంచే ధర్మము పుడుతున్నది. ధర్మానికి ప్రభువు అచ్యుతుడు' అని బృహన్నారదీయములో చెప్పబడింది.

వశిష్టసూత్రాలలో “అవయవ చాపల్యము లేనివారు, వంశపారంపర్యంగా వేదాధ్యయనం చేసేవారు, వేదాలనే ప్రమాణంగా తీసుకునే వారు శిష్టులు అనబడతారు' అని చెప్పబడింది. అటువంటి శిష్టులచే పూజింపబడేది మన అమ్మ.

శిష్టులంటే ఇష్టపడేది. తేలికగా చెప్పాలంటే శిష్టులు అనగా సదాచార సంపన్నులు వారియందు, వారి ఆచారములందు ప్రీతిగలది. సదాచార సంపన్నులలో కూడా బ్రహ్మజ్ఞానులు శిష్టష్టులు అనబడతారు. అటువంటి వారియందుండునది. వారి యందు ప్రీతి గలది. కాబట్టి ఆ పరమేశ్వరి శిష్టష్టా అనబడుతుంది.

Liked by the nobles. Divined mother is fond of rituals. There are two types of karmas when it comes to Sishteshta. 1. Shista - Vihitakarmas. 2. Ishta - Beloved.

Vihita karmas are karmas that are prescribed for general good. Divine mother is worshiped in all vihitakarmas. A Puja that is conducted as per the guidelines of Varna-ashrama dharmas is real puja. It is said in Brihannaradiyam, "Dharma (Righteousness) arises from implementation of these guidelines and the Lord of Dharma is Achyuta."

In the Vasishta Sutras, it is said that "those who are free from intrigue of senses, who study the Vedas by lineage, and who take the Vedas as their standard, are called Shishtas." Divine mother is worshiped by such devotees. Liked by the nobles. To put it simply, Shishta means virtuous people, Divine mother loves their customs and rituals. Even among virtuous people, those who possess knowledge of Brahma are called Shishtas. She is among such people. She loves them. So Divine mother is called Shishtestha.
