విష్ణుపురాణంలో
విష్ణువు ధరించే వైజయంతీ మాలను పంచభూతేశీ అని అంటారు. అందులో ఉండే నీలమణి పృథివి నుంచి వచ్చింది. ముత్యము నీటినుండి వచ్చింది. కౌస్తుభము అగ్ని, వైడూర్యము వాయువు, పుష్యరాగము ఆకాశమునుండి వచ్చాయి. పంచభూతాలకు ఆయన అధిపతి అనడానికి ఈ మాల నిదర్శనం. (ఇక్కడ విష్ణువుకు లలితమ్మకు అభేద్యం)

Vaijayanti maala worn by Vishnu is made of 5 gem stones. Blue sapphire (came from earth), Pearl (came from water), Koustubha (came from Fire), Vaidoorya (came from air) and Pushya raaga (came from sky). It represents Vishnu's authority over the five elements(here Vishnu and Divine mother are called inter changeably)
