733. Namaparaayanapreeta

Nama paraayana means to meditate upon various names of Divine Mother.

Divine mother likes to be called as O!Mother. Then we can just call her like that right? Why have so many names? Paramatma does have any form. So how will assigning a name to her makes sense?

Answer: We all have a body. We give it a name and that becomes its identity. That name is for our benefit. But Mother's names are not like that. Those names are given for our benefit not for her. The more the number of names, the more are the ways we get benefitted.

What are these names actually? How are these Paramatma's names?

Answer: This entire creation happened based upon certain scientific principles. Every change/movement has a reason, calculation and a goal. Those scientific principles are explained to us as Vedas, Puranas and Upanishats. Each name in Lalitha Sahasranama represent a scientific/social phenomenon of this creation. The concept being explained, it's embedded scientific principles and the reason behind it. All are Divine Mother. Hence these are her names.

I am a business man/an employee of a firm. How will these scientific concepts of creation help me?

Answer: Man is born with a goal. It is not wealth or fame or pleasure. It is consciousness. The fire of consciousness is always lit. That is the reason for so many thoughts in the mind. These names are fuel to that fire. Every aspect explained in puranas has relevance in three planes. They are: 1. Social - Explains aspects of social nature, 2. Scientific - Explains aspects of scientific nature, 3.Devotional - Explains aspects of devotional nature. At least one of these will be useful for anyone learning these names.

How is Mother pleased if I learn these names?

Answer: If you learn these names with complete devotion everyday, they form certain mental patterns in your mind. That is called Gnana (wisdom). It will transform the way you think. It will change your needs. It will improve your capabilities. You will grow. You will fulfill all your wants righteously and achieve  success. As you progress like this the gnana improves and finally leads to moksha(liberation). Then you reach Mother. So she likes those who do parayana of these names. She even lightens the burdens of righteousness when she finds you struggling in this endeavor.
